Who We Are

More specifically- Who I am... My name is Patricia or 'Pat' as most club people know me!  The Epagneul Breton or 'Brittany' has been my passion since I was fourteen years old...  I was given a 4 month old liver puppy called Clochette who proved to be the most intelligent dog I have ever had; twenty five years on and my enthusiasm has not waned.  I managed to purchase my first bitch from the President of the BCGB Stanley Smith and after this decided I would like to do some showing too.  Travelling to Wales I then bought a further two dogs from the Joymonds kennel: Joymonds Diamant and Asterix. I had fallen in love with the Black and White on admiring Joymonds Victoriana and I still have a penchant for that colour.

My current dogs descend from Diamant and we are now in our sixth generation. Since then, we have imported 10 dogs from France and those are from the top kennels which include many of the Elite Stud males there.  We believe in only using good looking working dogs as the breed is a working dog, and work it should do.

Our quest to learn as much as possible on the breed has led me to judge, culminating in my appointment at Crufts in 2010, going abroad to the US to help with a Seminar with French expert Jacques Francois Bordet, being student judge at two Nationales. Winning BOB with my homebred bitch Patouche Toscane in France and often exporting abroad now, even as far as Australia.

We are of the strong opinion that the breed should remain as close to the French standard as possible and with that aim we carry on working and trialing our dogs, as well as going back to France to visit kennels and bringing in fresh blood.

I am now looking forward to many more challenges over the next few years...

To date we have either produced or owned six Show Champions (one in Eire), and two Full Champions. They are: Ch. Patouche Jiji, Sh Ch Patouche Baileys, Sh. Ch. Patouche Horace, Irish Sh. Ch. Patouche Orelie, UKC champion Patouche Monseigneur, also our own Sh. Ch. Ivry de Keranlouan and her son Ch. Lorca de Keranlouan. We can now add his daughter Patouche Toscane as a full champion. Jiji was the first English bred Full Bitch Champion. (Owned by Malcolm and Alithea Lockie)

We are pleased to announce that Patouche Monseigneur owned by Bill & Kathy Dillon (USA) is a Show Champion, although still primarily a working dog.
